Environmental degradation and the increase in rural poverty are subjects of great concern in Latin America and the world in general. The destruction of natural forests, scarcity of water, reduced bio-diversity, and social ungovernability draw the attention and efforts of governments, nonprofit organizations, academia and many international participants. The Socioeconomic Development and Environment (DSEA) program provides students with specific abilities and values to be able to lead and contribute to responsible environmental management and rural transformation in a framework of sustainable development. As part of his training, the student learns the theory and practice of natural resource management, innovative rural development project administration methods and alternative forms of valuing and generating environmentally friendly and clean services and products.
