One of the greatest problems facing the Latin American region is the accelerated deterioration of our natural resources, accompanied by urban and rural pollution. Increasing deforestation, soil erosion, drought and loss of bio-diversity are indicators of an inadequate management of our natural heritage. Consumers on global markets are also increasingly demanding products and processes that are less polluting and more environmentally friendly. t Zamorano, we face these challenges integrally. Our education is based on over 60 years experience in the successful handling of our own Uyuca Biological Reserve nd the improvement of our commercial forests. Farming and industrial production in our programs is increasingly cleaner and more environmentally friendly. Furthermore, our capacity and institutional outreach activities for the integrated management of water basins make the professional training of our students more real and complete.
