Goals to Support our Vision and Mission

To support the Vision and Mission the Alison Bixby Stone School is focused on achieving the following goals:

1. Develop an educational program for grades Pre-Kinder through 6^th that meets the requirements and standards of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) in the United States and the basic requirements of the Ministry of Education in Honduras.
2. Recruit and maintain a highly qualified staff that is equally balanced with nationally and internationally trained teachers, to implement an educational program that supports the philosophy of the school.
3. Provide continued staff development for the enrichment of the personal and professional lives of the teachers.
4. Develop and maintain a facility and educational materials and resources that support the educational program and the philosophy of the school.
5. Provide a safe and caring yet challenging and exciting learning environment in which all students achieve their maximum academic potential.
6. Provide a learning community which promotes:

- A lifetime love of learning.
- Critical thinking skills needed to summarize, examine, evaluate, draw conclusions and make good decisions.
- A climate of success, pride and confidence.
- Tolerance, respect and understanding of different creeds, cultures and ideas.
- Environmental awareness and responsibility.
- Ability to work cooperatively and resolve conflicts peacefully.
- A consciousness of community service.
