Zamorano has an infrastructure that facilitates the combination of theoretical learning and practical. It is the only university in the region with an Agroindustrial Plant with seven commercial level food processing plants, where the students themselves carry out the industrial process of transforming raw materials into finished products. It also has Specialized Laboratories for practice and research as well as modern classrooms and a library that is equipped with the latest advances in information and communications technology. Zamorano also has extensive Production Fields where the students carry out practical work with livestock and agricultural crops.

In order to make our students’ lives more agreeable during their four years of study, Zamorano has modern and well-equipped student residence halls. Also, to ensure that our students develop healthy minds and bodies, there are sports installations for the practice of soccer, softball, tennis, basketball, volley ball, riding, body-building and swimming. As part of the curriculum students are required to practice at least one sport.

An infrastructure that is growing thanks to the support of our donors and collaborators
In order to provide students with more didactic tools, Zamorano’s infrastructure is growing year by year. In 2010 lathe Board of Trustees inaugurated the new modern Food Microbiology Laboratory. “This new installation positions Zamorano at the forefront of the region’s food agroindustry sector,” noted Dr. Javier Bueso, the Laboratory Coordinator.

In the same year, the Board inaugurated a new residential complex known as Arboreto, which includes the buildings with a capacity for 50 students each. A fourth dormitory is under construction.

The construction of both of these works was possible thanks to the support of donors that have always supported Zamorano like USAID’s American Schools and Hospitals Abroad (ASHA) program”
