“The different Zamorano specialized centers is aimed at change. Whether it involves supporting a local microenterprise, developing biofuel crops, preserving biodiversity or the region’s different ecosystems or reinforcing and updating the knowledge of our graduates”.
Dr. George Pilz
Professor Emeritus and former Zamorano academic dean.

Zamorano has four centers that place it on the cutting edge of teaching and innovation. Their objective is to develop synergies and cooperation between professors, instructors and experts in their field in order to strategically develop the institution’s educational, research and outreach activities. The four centers are:

  • Zamorano Biodiversity Center
  • Zamorano del Entrepreneurship Center
  • Zamorano Renewable Energy Center
  • Zamorano e Learning Center

Another purpose of the centers is to provide an institutional response to the great challenges facing Latin America, such as sustainable natural resource management, rural development to reduce poverty, and global competitiveness.

Catalysts for Change

The internationally recognized Zamoranos centers are catalysts for and leaders of initiatives that eventually become policies, programs and projects for the countries that Zamorano serves, taking advantage of the institution’s vast experience, capacity and international prestige accumulated over almost 70 years of presence in the region.
