“We feel proud to be able to receive young men and women from different countries and of different ages that want a taste of the Zamorano experience and want to learn about the realities outside of their countries”.

The International Program and Placement Office:
Interchanging Knowledge and Culture

The International Program and Placement Office at Zamorano offers an educational opportunity combined with a real life experience. Zamorano’s international programs open a window to Latin American culture, represented by 22 countries with all their similarities and differences. The students have contact with people and places that otherwise they would only know on paper or in a classroom, opening their eyes and minds to different ways of doing things.

The Summer Program is an enriching and unforgettable experience of Learning by Doing, where students from international universities participate in classes and do practical work in the production fields, agroindustrial park, and laboratories. They also do volunteer work in nearby rural communities and in the Uyuca natural reserve.

The Summer Program provides the opportunity to engage in communication with students, professors and instructors from all over Latin America. It is also a great opportunity for those who are interested in practicing their Spanish. For ten weeks the students receive training in the following topics:

  • tropical crops production;
  • ornamental plants;
  • organic agriculture, ecology and forest management;
  • animal science;
  • food processing;
  • tropical horticulture;
  • rural development.

They also learn about other subjects such as biotechnology, water resource management and renewable energy sources.

At the end of their period at Zamorano, the students will have received up to 8 academic credits that vouch for their effort and the experience acquired during their time at Zamorano.

Studying abroad helps the students develop the skills required to perform successfully in the professional world. It also broadens their experience and their perspective on their future academic possibilities.

Zamorano is definitely a magnificent opportunity to expand your horizons in a globalized world and to pave the way to a professional life full of opportunities.

The Office of International Programs informs and gives advice to Zamorano graduates about the different possibilities to study, receive language courses, participate in workshops or apply for internships abroad.
