"Through the GREEN ZAMORANO institutional culture, our professors, students and administrative personnel are reducing our consumption of water and electricity and improving solid waste management. Our goal is to reduce our carbon footprint on campus as much as possible ."
Dr. Kenneth Hoadley,
Zamorano president

What is GREEN ZAMORANO?

It is not a movement….
It is not an extracurricular activity….
It is not a style…. It is not a utopia…

GREEN ZAMORANO is part of our Alma Mater’s institutional culture.
It is a huge laboratory in which we all participate (students, professors, administrators, residents and neighbors).
This is proactive participation; it is not imposed by the authorities, but comes from what each member of the community discovers and implements.
GREEN ZAMORANO is involved in four basic areas:

  1. Renewable Energy
  2. Water Conservation and Rationalization
  3. Efficient Management of Waste Products
  4. Significant reduction of Greenhouse Gasses

In order to make an impact on these four areas, projects in the academic, research, outreach and administrative areas are being developed. The goal is to reduce as far as possible our carbon footprint and to encourage others to do the same.

When you see this logo, you will know that GREEN ZAMORANO is involved.

Do you want to be part of this culture?
Change your attitude, assume the challenge and become involved in the institutional effort. There is no time to lose.
