ABSS’ Preschool offers a learning environment that both nurtures and challenges students to grow and understand the world.
Students in Nursery, Pre-Kinder, and Kindergarten are encouraged to explore ideas, develop strong friendships, and express themselves through many different means. Children leave our program knowing the school values their ideas and with a positive attitude toward learning.
Students are motivated to engage in experiential learning activities through learning-by-doing, where they are able to manipulate objects and problem-solve at a very early age. On any typical day in a classroom, you will see children working independently, cutting, sorting, painting and using manipulatives. Students are constantly being observed to meet their individual interest and needs, thus monitoring the progress of each child to recognize readiness in the different stages of learning. Differentiated instruction is used methodically to support students in achieving the learning goals.

An engaging way to start each day, build a strong sense of community, and set children up for success socially and academically.
Classrooms are divided into groups to work in centers. A learning center is a self-contained section of the classroom in which students are able to engage in independent and self-directed learning activities. Centers allow easy access to a variety of learning materials in an engaging, interesting and productive manner.
Mental breaks designed to help students stay focused. Brain breaks provide processing time for students to solidify their learning, re-energize the brain and take a break by moving. Typically a break is a quick physical activity that will help students refocus.
LEARNING BY DOING
Under the umbrella of EAP Zamorano, ABSS also applies this philosophy as learning strategy. The learning by doing academic component makes us a unique educational institution. We work on developing leadership, skills and abilities of our students with activities that reinforce their knowledge.
Annually, Widener and Purdue University students visit ABSS to develop different programs to reinforce kids learning. We also have other international guests.
Students receive differentiated learning by different teachers depending their needs.
