About Zamorano
The Panamerican Agricultural School, Zamorano, is carrying out a search process to fill the position of Professor of Horticulture at the University to assume his/her responsibilities in July of 2016. Founded in 1942, Zamorano is a private, non-profit international university offering four undergraduate degrees in Agricultural Engineering: Agricultural Science and Production, Agribusiness Management, Food Agroindustry, and Socioeconomic Development and Environment. Zamorano graduates work in agricultural production, agribusiness, food technology, conservation, government jobs and academia. Students (1,200 from 22 Latin American countries) and approximately 100 professors, instructors, personnel members and their families live on the campus. In Zamorano’s multicultural and bilingual environment, all members of the community share a commitment to Panamericanism.
Professor of Horticulture
The candidate should be a development-oriented professional in horticulture (vegetable production) prepared to become a regional leader in technological innovation in the field.
Her/his responsibilities will involve developing, maintaining and leading the activities of teaching, Learning by Doing, extension, research and production in the areas of horticulture.. She/he will also coordinate her/his activities with the personnel in the areas of soils, vegetable nutrition, irrigation, machinery, integrated pest management, marketing, commercialization and the Academic Dean’s Office. In addition, the professor will be responsible for expanding the vegetable production program and involving both the public and private sectors in production and research.
