Intern: Gregory Brahian Ortiz Peralta. Environmental Science and Development
Gregory did his internship at the Horticulture and Natural Resources Department of Kansas State University, United States. The Department is charged with developing new research in the fields of agronomy, water quality and the use of natural resources. As part of his internship responsibilities, Gregory participated primarily in forestry projects. The experience also allowed him to attend a conference about the state of Kansas’ natural resources, in addition to being invited to listen in on some of the KSU courses that were held during his internship.
The hand-on portion of his work program included visitation to a stream to continue monitoring of an already implemented flow project. He also closely contributed to the execution of a new assignment at the Wichita military base. And finally, Gregory was in charge of updating the database on the implementation of different varieties of vegetables, which has been a resource for the department since 2013.
