Honey Processing Plant

The objective of this plant is to offer students basic knowledge on apiary management and beehive product processing. Students learn about effective beekeeping practices and the postharvest process for honey, pollen, propolis, royal jelly, and wax.

The facility is comprised of areas that allow for the hygienic processing of all apiculture products, has the space to work with eight students at a time, and produces 1,700 kilos of honey and 50 kilos of pollen each month. The plant has a classroom, processing room, and two storage rooms —one for raw materials and another for finished products. Every day, students process honey, royal jelly, pollen, propoli, and wax. This is also a good place to carry out thesis projects.
