Mental Health and Development
The mental health of students is essential for their academic performance and, therefore, a priority factor for ZAMORANO. The Mental Health and Development Office carries out different activities that promote the students’ well-being and mental health. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), mental health is a state of well-being in which an individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.
Psychological counseling
Individual counseling provides the opportunity to speak to a professional about concerns or issues in a brief and solution-focused manner. Concerns discussed vary widely, but may include feelings of low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, academic concerns, substance use, problems with friends and family or relationship concerns, among others.

Vocacional guidance
Vocational guidance is a dynamic process through which the students learn about important personal aspects in order to choose their major. In addition, they learn about how their interests and abilities, aptitudes, values, motivations and study habits are related in order to discover their vocation. Through this process, they can know which professional activity will allow them to develop their greatest potential and be most successful, pursuant to their skills and vocational preferences.
Integral Formation
Integral formation focuses on the development of Life Skills with the aim that students strengthen their abilities to successfully face the demands and challenges of daily life. Additionally, workshops and practices are included to improve health and well-being, and actively participate in the construction of fairer, supportive and equitable societies.

Crisis Intervention
Crisis intervention is the strategy applied at the time of an emotional disturbance or the result of an unexpected situation that a person has not been able to deal with efficiently. The goal is to help the person recover the level of functioning that they had before the crisis; restore their emotional balance; and improve their conceptualization of what happened to support the activation of coping resources required.
Academic Counseling
Personalized follow-up for students who require advice and guidance on academic, personal and professional issues or those related to specific needs, individually supporting them to discover and enhance their abilities. Learning styles are identified and strategies are provided for the formation of personal habits, improved study techniques and effective time management. Likewise, guidance in other areas that allow a better academic adjustment is also provided.
